Meet the Horses

Gloria

Gloria is our beloved 26-year-old POA school master. Her extensive experience includes trail riding in the mountains, riding at the beach, family birthday parties, and several years of 4-H shows. Gloria worked at Camp River Ranch Girl Scout Camp in Carnation, Washington, as a lesson and trail horse for two years before joining our family.

Rhythm

Rhythm is a 2010 mustang mare from the Murderer’s Creek herd near John Day, Oregon. Rhythm is a multitalented little horse: she loves children and teaching beginners all the basics, or taking a more advanced rider around a jump course. Her brave calm nature, inborn sense of direction and amazing surefootedness make Rhythm a phenomenal trail horse as well. Rhythm is continually in training while she’s not teaching lessons, and Britt hopes to eventually turn her into a dressage schoolmaster.

Layla

Layla, an 8-year-old quarter pony mare, is the newest addition to our herd. Before coming to our barn, she was used as a broodmare to produce safe, sturdy horses for commercial trail rides. She is incredibly kind, quiet and straightforward, and she has wonderfully smooth gaits. She was originally purchased as a resale project, but she has quickly turned into a valuable addition to our lesson program, and is available for an in-barn half-lease.

Decker

Decker, Britt’s personal horse, is a 2005 appendix quarter horse gelding. Britt and Decker attended their first recognized dressage show together in May of 2017.
